The Dreams, The Drags and The Everydays of life! JJ Ford’s new LP “Perfect Saturday Night” explores and expresses those challenges that face each of us.

The “day job” is an oft used term by musicians when referring to their True Means of support while pursuing their True Dream of making music! The album “Perfect Saturday Night” gives an accounting of some of those trials and offers inspiration and insight to the listener of the sufferings, successes and stories surrounding the life of this country singer/songwriter.

The music is clearly Country Rock and echoes the influences absorbed by a lifelong exposure to Country Music radio and especially flavored by the Bakersfield Sound. Outstanding Fiddle work by Master Fiddler Bobby Furgo (Leonard Cohen, Pat Boone. . .) interwoven with thick country riffs of electric guitar and pedal steel guitar define the sound. Listeners often comment that JJ’s songs are “about something…” such as “Love is not a Word” which explores the Mars/Venus disposition of relationships between men & women. The Planetary concern that captures the listeners attention in “Listen Tonight” and the dismissal of corporate America values in “Secondhand Dreams” . Title Track is sure to speak to many who work for their dreams and delivers JJ’s personal declaration of independence in the hook line: “…this is what I work for, a Perfect Saturday Night”
